5000 Businessmen in Chandigarh got VAT Notice
Chandigarh got VAT notice – It has been 8 years since GST was implemented in the country but despite these businessmen of Chandigarh are still getting VAT notices.
And the penalty amount being imposed amounts to thousands of crores of rupees. Businessmen of Chandigarh are now very troubled by these notices which they get daily.
These people have requested the Chandigarh administration to implement the OTS system for this so that they can get relief from this trouble.
Chairman of Chandigarh Vyapar Mandal Charanjeet Singh said here that the businessmen of Chandigarh are already very troubled by these notices, which is affecting their health and business as well. He said that most of the notices are being sent to the shopkeepers in the wrong manner and they are being troubled.

He also met the Governor of Punjab and the Administrator of Chandigarh Mr. Gulabchand Kataria regarding this matter. The Governor has given him full confidence that he will take the same decision with the officials related to this matter so that the problems of the businessmen can be ended.
It is worth knowing that till now no talks have been successful and efforts are being made from both sides to find a solution so that the problems of businessmen can be addressed.
OTS has been imposed in other states
Chairman of Chandigah Vyapar Mandal Mr. Rajiv Chadha says that if the government imposes OTS then it will not benefit the government because right now businessmen are not depositing money due to wrong notices and excess amount.
But as soon as the OTs system is implemented in Chandigarh, businessmen will start getting money deposited along with it. This will provide money to Chandigarh and also improve the financial situation of Chandigarh which is currently very bad.
Traders are demanding discount and interest waiver in Base amount
Under OTs, businessmen are also talking about discount and interest waiver in base amount. And the Vyapar Mandal says that by doing so, tax worth crores of rupees will come into the account of the GST department, Chandigarh and this amount can be from Rs 4000 crore to Rs 5000 crore.
It is being said that GST was implemented in Chandigarh on 1 July, 2017. And before GST, VAT was implemented in Chandigarh but now it has been 8 years since VAT was abolished in Chandigarh but notices of VAT are still coming.
